Honestly after the way Edward Loh treated Stef over the weekend he and his crappy magazine/channel can go pound sand. I didn’t think it was possible to think any less of Motor Trend, but now I do.

GM too. They both have had a bunch of questionable COTY wins in the past. The question and Loh’s response was kinda funny though

Are you suggesting that the Chevrolet Malibu was not the pinnacle of automotive engineering back in 1997?

I can only comment that my Grandmother bought one new back then, called it a piece of shit and traded it on a new Chrysler Cirrus after 2 months haha! So not COTY for Grandma412GTI

They’re pretty consistent. 5 boring domestics for every VW. Nothing too reliable.

Wouldn’t it be funny if you could hack into MT and make the POY release name Patrick George?

His comment was way out of line.
Jalopnik’s piling onto MT for getting airtime on Fox News was stupid/childish.

LOL, he can’t even discern when someone is insulting him. How the hell did he land in the editor-in-chief role again? Reading comprehension’s pretty vital to the job, bud.

One of my friends and I have a running joke of pointing out Motor Trend’s 1997 Car of the Year, the Chevrolet Malibu.
We saw quite a few of them when we went to a demolition derby. They’re crap.

He stupidly took the bait. Sometimes the best approach is to just STFU. If he had walked away it would be over.
The fact he couldn’t is a bit telling.

I guess that would be kind of a curse, huh?
I repent.

Didn’t MotorTrend famously fire all their copy editors because they didn’t think they were necessary ?
I think reading comprehension is way down on the list of important things over there.
Nonsensical numbers are of course at the top of the list.

I don’t remember that, but it does seem like the copy editor role keeps disappearing from various publications. So, I sadly wouldn’t be surprised.

You’ll find the PT Cruiser and Ford Probe on there if you go back far enough!
